Salings & tickets
Boats depart from Tenby Harbour. Tickets are available from the blue Caldey Island ticket office in Castle Square. Please note: these are the only boats that land on Caldey Island.
Tickets can only be purchased on the day of travel due to the nature of the island; sailings may be cancelled if sea conditions are unsuitable.
Crossing time is approximately 20 minutes. All vessels are fully licensed and certified by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and carry the required lifesaving and firefighting equipment.
The boats are traditionally built wooden vessels owned and operated by local skippers with extensive experience in the waters around the island, many of whom are members of the Tenby RNLI crew.
Opening times
The opening dates for the 2026 season are as follows:
4th April - Late October (Monday to Saturday)
Please note: All sailings are weather dependant and may be cancelled at short notice if conditions are unsafe. To find out if we are running boats on any given day simply return to the home page and the day’s sailing information will be available.
The island will be open on Sundays throughout the school holidays.
