Lay Cistercians

Adapting monastic practices to everyday life on the mainland…

If you’ve visited Caldey and you would like to learn how monastic practices can be used back home, joining the lay Cistercians of Caldey might be the thing for you.

We’re a small group of men and women from all walks of life, from a wide range of Christian denominations who support each other on our own spiritual journeys. We meet online each week and we visit Caldey for retreats three or four times a year.

We learn about contemplative practives such as meditation, silence, lectio divina etc. and we have a lot of fun in each others’ company. We also help Caldey through volunteering our skills and experience.
